Where Faith and Community Meet

Dear friends and loved ones, 

How can a young woman of 22 years old be of spiritual service to a woman in her 40's? That crossed my mind as I started on the journey of teaching Bibi, a woman in her 40's who, even though had made stabs at following the Lord, was plagued with vices, one of which was drugs. The Lord had been showing me that it was nothing that I could do but that He would make me capable of doing the things that He asked me to do. That's exactly what happened with Bibi. He gave me the capability to work with her, and over the months, the Lord has transformed her life. She is now regular in church and is no longer taking drugs. Her Bible studies with me go on for about four hours on a regular basis as her needs are great. She now is saying that she believes she is called to be a missionary! We are the vessels, and even though we don't feel capable, we are used by Him if we let Him use us. I'm grateful! My time here on the Uruguay border is coming to an end as I prepare to go to Japan as I had formerly mentioned. I am starting to wrap up things with the work here and, before too long, will be heading for Japan as the Lord had shown me before. I have had a year of growing and maturing in the Lord and am grateful for this time I've spent here and the lives I've had the privilege to reach with the gospel. I will miss my family and friends, but I am certain that this is the time God has set for this to happen. I also will be traveling to the States on my way to Japan to renew my financial support as it is too low for what I will need for my work in Japan. So that's what's going on with me and the plans for the close future. I covet your prayers as I navigate the next few months. Pray for: 1. Getting all the work here passed on to others to continue on. 2. My monthly support to be renewed, and the goal needed to be reached. 3. Landing funds to set up housekeeping when I get to Japan (although I am planning a pretty simplistic way of living) 4. My passages to the States and Japan. Thank you for your prayers and support. I'm very grateful for those that make it possible for me to continue on the path the Lord has given me.
